About flagdisposal.us
A simple, free guide to retiring worn American flags the right way.
Every year, millions of U.S. flags fade, fray and tear. Most people want to retire them respectfully but don’t know who to call. Veterans’ posts, Elks lodges and Scout troops have done this work for generations; flagdisposal.us just helps you find them.
Who runs it
flagdisposal.us is an independent project started by Chris, a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks in Florida. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the VFW, the American Legion, the Elks, or any government agency.
How we list drop-off spots
- We start from each organization’s official locator and national guidance.
- We call to confirm a location accepts flags from the public before we list it.
- We don’t copy other directories, and we never pay for or sell listings.
- Policies change. Please call ahead, and tell us if a listing is wrong.
